To keep our members connected and fit while our gym is closed, the BBC’s own Ryan MacSween will be hosting a series of fitness workouts on the Club’s Instagram platform. Ryan has over ten years experience as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, mobility and HIIT specialist, so we’re really excited that he has stepped up to host.
Workout Timing, Format, and Equipment Requirements For Today
Bodyweight Tabata (20:10 sec ratio) HIIT Workout: This is a no equipment body weight workout. Nothing is required, but yourself and a yoga mat (preferred) or towel. This training session will run approximately 35-40 minutes.
|How to Access the Workouts:
1) If you don’t have Instagram: You’ll need to download the free app for your phone, tablet or computer. Go to the app store or playstore, enter Instagram in the search function, and download the app (you may need your password). Once you have done that, create an account, and then follow @balmybeachclub (enter @balmybeachclub in the search function and tap the follow button). You don’t have to worry about posting content – you can just follow accounts if you like.
2) If you have an Instagram Account: If you don’t follow @balmybeachclub, now’s the time to start! Enter @balmybeachclub in the search function and then follow us. We’re up to 741 followers and counting…
The workouts will be on the Instagram Live platform. Instagram Live is a feature on Instagram Stories that allows users to stream video to followers and engage with them in real time. Instagram Live is located in the stories bar (row of accounts you follow with their avatar inside circles). When an account is live, a ring highlights their profile picture and you will see the word LIVE at the bottom. It’s that easy!
After the workout, Ryan will share the content, so it will remain accessible for up to 24 hours. If you miss the workout, you can tune in at a later time.
